Feminist Archive Links
Links to Feminist Archives that influenced the Jacqueline Morreau Drawing Archive.
One of the fundamental themes to the re: jacqueline morreau exhibition, held at Bow Arts in September 2017, was the practice of radical archiving in order to record the histories of marginalised people and artists whose experiences and work is not recorded within the typical canons of history.
In the panel discussion Histories/Herstories, held Thursday 7th September, 2017 at Bow Arts, the outcome of the conversation among the panelists was the necessity of marginalised peoples to create their own archives and the spaces for them, both in order to avoid their experiences and work being misrepresented historically, and in many cases to be represented at all.
The Jacqueline Morreau Drawing Archive is a publicly accessible online archive which not only catalogues the works of jacqueline morreau, as it stands there is no public archive of her important contributions to the feminist art movement; but which also provides links to other alternative archives in order to create a network in which previously unrecognised histories can be shared and discovered.
